Audie Murphy
Audie Murphy, orphaned son of poor Texas share-croppers, became an overnight sensation in 1945 when Life Magazine publicized Murphy as the most decorated GI of WWII. His movie career took off with the publication of his best selling autobiography To Hell and Back. Murphy starred in 27 films and the film version of his autobiography held the record as Universal's biggest grossing picture for 20 years until the release of Steven Speilberg's "Jaws." In his early Holloywood career Murphy had an affair with Jean Peters (who later married Howard Hughes). Murphy died while on a business trip raising money to finish production of Budd Boetticher's "A Time for Dying" and he was buried with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery. Our Audie Murphy autograph check image is a wonderful mememto. This Audie Murphy autograph reproduction would look great in an album or display.
