Ballston Spa National Bank is located in the lush Saratgoa Valley of upstate New York.  The area was made famous by Indian stories from James Fennimore Cooping,, Henry Irving, Peter Kalm, and La Rochefoucauld.  This check from the Ballston Spa National bank was signed by George L. Thomspon, the son of Judge James Thomson who cofounded this bank.  It is especially interesting because a four-cent postage stamp is affixed to the original stamp.  In reality, a two-cent bank revenue stamp was required.
