The Buckley & Douglas Lumber Company in Manistee, Michigan, was a major business.  The business was founded in 1887 and incorporated on December 31, 1892.  In 1887, the company organized the Manistee & North Eastern Railroad to transport their products.  Their business activities greatly enhanced economic development and prosperity in northern Michigan.  This check has a great vignette that looks great in a framed display.
