Charles Root was the pitcher who pitched one of the most famous pitches in the history of baseball - the "called pitch" that Babe Ruth hit for a home run in the 1932 World Series.  According to his daughter Della, two days before his death lamentingly told her, "I gave my life to baseball, and I'll only be remembered for something that never happened."  Baseball fans may find themselves rooting for a Charles Root autograph.
