Member of the U.S. House of Representatives and Special Envoy to China.   Under President John Tyler, Cushing negotiated the first treaty between China and the United States.  Caleb Cushing was nominated to be Chief Justice but not confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He was also an unsuccessful candidate for Secretary of the Treasury.  This reproduction would look great in an album or display.
