Cyrus Aiken signes an oath stating that he remembers a man named John Neuman. The document is dated 1868, Downieville, California, where Dr. Cyrus D. Aiken has signed an oath stating that he remembers a man named John Neumann, who died at Goodyear's Bar some time ago. Signed in center portion of document by Dr. Aiken and signed at bottom by W. Ford Thomas as county clerk. Dr. Aiken was hired by the defense attorney involved in "The Hanging of Juanita" trial to testify that Juanita was pregnant. However, Dr. Aiken's testimony was contested by other physicians and his testimony failed to convince a jury to spare Juanita. On July 5, 1851, Juanita was hanged in Downieville, California.
