Daniel Meyer bank check from 1907. Daniel Meyer was the first treasurer of the San Francisco Stock Exchange. Born in Bavaria in 1824, Meter was educated in banking in Europe and came to America in 1842. In 1850, Meyer moved from New York to San Francisco. Inj 1857 he formed the Bank of Daniel Meyer on Pine Street between Sansome and Battery Streets. Meyer also served as president of the German Savings and Loan Society. Meyer was also a benefactor for the Federation of Jewish Charities.
