Dorothea Dix is an American political activist well-known for supporting humanitarian causes. Dix rallied state legislatures and the United States Congress to support mental asylums for the indigent. She especially supported the Asylum for the Insane in Worcester, Massachusetts. During the American Civil War she served as Superintendent of Army Nurses. A Dorothea Dix autograph is a wonderful memento. This reproduction would look great in an album or display.
