Ella Fitzgerald is kinown as The First Lady of Song.  Fitzgerald was the most popular female jazz singer in America.  Her voice was versatile and her range was truly amazing.  Fitzgerald performed all around the world.  She also suffered from diabetes and her career came to a closure when both of her legs were amputated due to complications from this disease.  Her final concert was at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 1991.  She was interred at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.
