The Revenue Act of 1932 was the U.S. government's attempt at financial recovery during the Great Depression.  The draconian legislation led to elevated income tax rates, imposed high excise taxes, and taxed bank checks.  First National Bank of Fairbanks provided check writers customers this autograph image statement to notify them of tax charges to their account by the U.S. Government.
