George Ernest Uhle was a major league baseball pitcher who popularized a pitch known as the slider.  Uhle began his professional baseball career with the Cleveland Indians.  His pitching record was outstanding, at times leading the American League in wins, innings pitched games, and shutouts.  In 1928, Uhle was traded to the Detroit Tigers where his teammate was Ty Cobb.  Uhle played later for the New York Yankees and then back with the Cleveland Indians.  His batting average of 0.288 is still a record for a pitcher.  Uhle's autograph on checks is very uncommon, and is a great baseball memento. This reproduction would look great in an album or display.
