Barker was instrumental in bringing the Pacific Railroad Company to Berkeley, California.  Barker established Berkeley's first schoolhouse and Berkeley's first newspaper. The Weekly Gazette.  He was also the moving force for building Berkeley's first public library.  Barker owned vast tracts of land in Berkeley.  This James Loring Barker autograph reproduction would look great in an album or display.
