Before becoming president of the Confederate States of America, Jefferson Davis (1808-1889) served as US Senator from Mississippi and Secretary of War under Franklin Pierce. In April 1861 Davis opened the Civil War when he ordered the Confederate attack on Fort Sumter in South Carolina. This reproduction would look great in an album or display.
