Jimi Hendrix Autograph

Jimi Hendrix is considered to be among the best and most influential guitarists in the history of rock and roll.  As a result, a Jimi Hendrix autograph is coveted by collectors across the world.  In 1966, after forming The Jimi Hendrix Experience band, his European tour enjoyed tremendous success.  Hendrix's fame skyrocketed after appearances at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, the Woodstock Festival in 1969, and the Isle of Wright Festival in 1970.

In 1992, Hendrix was posthumously inducted into the United States Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  In 1997, a plaque was installed in his memory at his former residence on Brook Street in London, England.  Hardly any musician in the annals of Rock and Roll has been acclaimed to the same level as Jimi Hendrix.

Hendrix obtained his first guitar when he was 15 years -old.  Hendrix was mainly self-taught, practicing by himself for several hours a day and learning by mimicking great musicians.  In 1959, Hendrix received his first electric guitar as a gift from his father, a landscape gardener.  Hendrix played with a number of bands in the Seattle, Washington area and at least on one occasion in Vancouver, British Columbia.  His first real musical job was playing in a band in the basement of Temple De Hirsch.

Hendrix attended Garfield High School.  Jimi dropped out of Garfield High School in 1961 and enlisted in the United States Army.  High school yearbooks autographed by Hendrix have been offered to potential buyers for thousands of dollars.  Despite the fact that the Hendrix did not graduate from this school because of poor grades and attendance issues, he later received an honorary degree and a memorial bust in the high school library.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience, formed in England, was an experience to behold.  Jimi pioneered the use of the wah-wah electric pedal and amazed others with his unique musical talent.  After the appearance of his album Are You Experienced, his popularity exploded.  His earnings skyrocketed from making $3.00 a night in Greenwich Village to $2,500 a night.  His last album, Cry of Love, was made in 1971 at Electric Lady Studios in New York City.

Hendrix was interred in Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, Washington.  His headstone has an engraving of a Fender Stratocaster and his autograph is inscribed at the base of three pillars that support the canopy above his grave site.

Hendrix wrote this check to One Stop Records in London, to purchase recordings from classical composer George Frederic Handel.  He began recording All Along the Watchtower the next day at Olympic Studios, with Brian Jones and Dave Mason.  The highly acclaimed Jimi Hendrix Deluxe Edition DVD compiles prime Hendrix material.  This is the only Jimi Hendrix autograph check we have seen or ‘experienced.'

This Jimi Hendrix autograph reproduction would look great in an album or display.
