John Bidwell led the first wagon train into California. He is credited with discovering gold on the Feather River in northern California, one of the most spectacular finds during the Gold Rush. Bidwell used his fortune to buy large tracts of land in California founding the town of Chico. Bidwell was also an unsuccessful candidate for U.S. President in 1892, running on the Prohibition ticket. A John Bidwell autograph is a pioneeering memento. This reproduction would look great in an album or display.
