Julia Tyler  was the first woman to marry an incumbent American president when she married John Tyler in 1844. Julia was thirty years younger than her husband. Wasting no time, she had seven children with Tyler who already had eight children from a prior marriage. Julia Tyler was the first to have musicians play "Hail to the Chief" at events attended by the President.
