Lina Elise Gre, the wife of Western literature author Zane Grey, was also known as Dolly.  Zane Grey met Dolly in 1900 when she was 17 years old.  Five years later they became married.  Dolly gave up her profession as a school teacher to support Grey.  They initiallly lived in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania which has been converted into the Zane Grey Museum.  Grey ceased practicing dentistry to become a full-time writer.  Thanks to a nice inheritance from Lima's family, she was able to support Zane and their budding family. Lina managed her husband's literary career and raised their three children while he took long vacations away from home.  Zane Grey loved the outdoors and wrote about his fishing expeditions.  Elsie also served as her husband's editor and interfaced with publishers, literary agents, and movie producers.

Lina and Zane moved to Altadena, California and lived on Millionaire's Row on East Mariposa Street.  Zane Grey's writing was influenced by Owen Wister.  Lina and Zane live for a brief time on Catalina Island.  Both Lina and Zane aure buried at the Lackawaxen and Union Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
