Lorene Yarnell was half of the legendary comedy mime tean of Shields and Yarnell. While performing as a mime at the Hollywood Wax Museum she was spotted by mine Marcel Marceau and recruited for his training program in Paris. Yarnell returned to the United States and performed at Union Square in San Francisco.
Yarnell's talents were evident in The Carol Burnett Show, The Dean Martin Show, and The Red Skelton Show. From 1972, she paired with Robert Shields to form their famous comedy mime duo, Shields and Yarnell. The pair were married in a mime ceremony in Union Square. For a brief period of time they had a successful television series on CBS known as Shields and Yarnell. Shields and Yarnell worked together until 2009. Lorene Yarnell died one year later while residing in Norway of a ruptured cerebral aneurysm.
