Manuscript Check

Manuscript promissory notes are essentially handwritten checks.  They were perfectly legal in 1864 when this note was written and they are perfectly legal today.  The check displayed here have revenue stamps that were required for financial instruments. This bank check reproduction would make a wonderful display or addition to a collector's album.
