Marilyn Sheppard's murder inspired a popular television series The Fugitive, and a best-seller by Truman Capote's best-seller In Cold Blood.  Marilyn's husband, Sam Sheppard, spent ten years in prison, but in 1966 a jury found that he was not guilty of the crime.
