John Hill Brinton McClellan graduated from the medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. He pradctices at the Will's Eye Hospital for many years. During the Civil War he pioneered several types of operations including complete removal of the parotid gland, and the first remobal of the entire upper extremity. His autograph is very scarce and desirable, especially by collectors of medical autographs.
