Millard Fillmore was the second Vice President to become president after the death of a sitting president, Zachary Taylor.  Fillmore is known for founding the White House Library and appointing Brigham Young as the first governor of the Utah Territory.  Millard Fillmore also fought and survived the battle of The Alamo.  One of the best biographies about Fillmore is The Remarkable Millard Fillmore.
