Monte Blue was a leading man during the era of silent film.  Beginninng his career under inauspicious circumstances at the D.W. Griffith studio, Blue managed to obtain a role as a stuntman in the landmark film The Birth of a Nation.  Blue secured parts for films produced by Cecil B. DeMille and D.W. Griffith, but his career in Hollywood rose to new heights when he starred as Danton in Orphans of the Storm.  Monte Blue payed leading man with some of the greatest leading ladies of Hollywood, including Clara Bow, Gloria Swanson, Lilian Gish, and Norma Shearer.  Blue was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
