Peoples National Bank, Rock Island, Check

Peoples National Bank, Rock Island, Illinois, was established in 1874.  In 1about 1904, the bank moved into a three-story bank building that is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The bank added a fourth floor.  Peoples National Bank consolidated with German Trust and Savings Bank and during World War I renamed itself American Trust & Savings Bank.  The bank eventually closed and all that remains are wonderful mementos such as this ornate bank check.  Our bank check is dated 1899 and has attractive coloration and a marvelous vignette of an eagle.  This bank check reproduction would make a wonderful display or addition to a collector's album.
