Rachel Robinson was the wife of legendary baseball star Jackie Robinson.  Rachel met Jackie while both attended UCLA as undergraduate students.  Rachel married Jackie five years later and became a nurse at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.  Thiis check image shows payment to her church, The Stamford Congregational Church in Connecticut.  This church was organized in 1641, six years before the actual founding of the town of Stamford..  Here's to you, Mrs Rachel Robinson.
