Samuel Montagu was a remarkable businessman who made London a powerhouse in the world of finance.  Although he was a staunch anti-Zionist, Montagu founded the Federation of Synagogues and played a role in many Russian-Jewish affairs.  Montagu or his firm's first employee signed virtually all checks issued by his company.   A Samuel Montagu autograph is a wonderful memento.
