Thomas Claiborne served as major on the staff of Gen. Andrew Jackson in the Creek War. After the war he served in the general assembly of Tennessee and was subsequently elected as a Republican to the Fifteenth Congress.  A Thomas Claiborn autograph is a wonderful memento.
