A graduate from Westminster School in England, Thomas Pinckney (1746-1825) served as a General in the Revolutionary War and War of 1812 and as served as Governor of South Carolina (1787-89). As Envoy Extraordinary to Spain, Pinckney negotiated a treaty setting the boundary between the US and Spanish lands in North America.
