Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo is the namesake of the city Vallejo in Northern California.  The city was named in honor of this Mexical general who facilitated transfer of the region to the United States of America.  In 1851, Vallego was the official state capital of California before it was reloacted in 18953 to Sacramento.  A Mariano Guadalupe autograph makes a wonderful conversational display.
