In 1775 William Dawes accompanied Paul Revere in his famous midnight ride to warn colonists in Lexington and Concord of approaching British soldiers. Starting in Boston, Dawes rode his horse through the dark countryside before catching up with Paul Revere near Lexington. The Lexington militia quickly organized and confronted British troops in the main square of town. The ensuing battle marked the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Only two handwritten letters from Dawes are known to exist. This is the image of the only check signed by William Dawes which is known to exist. This William Dawes autograph reroduction would look fantastic in an album or framed display.
